The Duratec water rail casting replaces the standard water outlet allowing the water from the rear of the cylinder head to be taken to the front of the engine, therefore simplifying all in-line conversions. The casting utilises the standard Ford Escort/Fiesta thermostat arrangement, or alternatively an elbow arrangement if a header tank is to be used. The large cross sectional area of the rail accommodates all performance levels inc turbo and supercharged applications. The rail has cast-in coil pack mount legs on the rear of the casting which can be removed if the coil pack is to be fitted elsewhere (eg where bulk head clearance is an issue). The rail comes drilled and taped with 1/8th NPT take-offs for engine management and gauge senders and a 3/8th NPT heater boss. Blanking plugs are available if these bosses if not required. The Duratec water rail is complex casting manufactured for us from LM25 aluminium by a leading motorsport foundry.
