Raceline Duratec-R Dry Sump Kit
While the Ford Duratec engine offers an incredibly lightweight 2000cc/2300cc engine package, it does suffer from being a wide engine, making external dry sump solutions often complicated, costly and heavy. Existing external pump solutions require long-nosed pumps and long belt runs to operate, increasing the chance of operating problems. The current dry sump designs on the market that do position the dry sump pump internally in the pan, combat these problems, but use the Ford pump in addition to a secondary pump, making then complicated and, again, heavy.
The Raceline Durtec-R dry sump kit is designed to simplify dry sump lubrication in a simple neat design. By using one all-new dry sump pump in place of the standard pump and making use of the standard pump gear and chain, the system is incredibly light, compact and efficient.
The average Duratec dry sump system weighs in at 9kg, while the Raceline kit weighs 5kgs. The nearest competition on ground clearance measures 75mm while the Raceline kit offers 38mm.
While the packaging advantages are clear, the design hasn’t compromised performance. The Raceline dry sump pan kit has been tested to 9000rpm and ‘back-to-backed’ with all the other dry sump kits on the market. The results demonstrated that the Raceline dry sump kit had the best oil control, made possible by the unique dual crank scraper design, and was also by far the easiest Duratec dry sump kit to fit. The Raceline Duratec-R dry sump kit is also user-friendly to run with a neat easy-clean finger filter.
As well as Caterham/Westfield applications, the sumps are also available to suit single-seater and sports car applications.
